Pauli Pauli during his stint with the Eels.

Eels forward Pauli Pauli and Titans forward Ryan James have both taken early guilty pleas for their respective dangerous contact charges in Round 12 of the Telstra Premiership.

Pauli was cited for a grade one dangerous contact charge for his hit on Panthers playmaker Jamie Soward in Parramatta's win over Penrith.

The grading of the charge – combined with Pauli's previous good record – will mean the Eels giant won't miss any game time with his early guilty plea.

Also charged in Round 12, Titans second-rower Ryan James also escaped suspension with an early guilty plea for his challenge on Greg Inglis.

Like Pauli's charge, a grade one dangerous contact – head/neck charge attracts a base penalty of 100 points, reduced to 75 with an early plea.
