Cowboys lock Jason Taumalolo enjoys some popcorn on the sidelines.

In order to play in the NRL our stars of the game must follow strict dietary guidelines to keep their bodies performing at their very best. But that's not to say they can't have a 'cheat day' every now and again. Here's their go-to when they get the green light.

Damien Cook (Rabbitohs)

A pulled pork burger with sweet potato fries from Rubyniks in Miranda. That's where I get my coffees from all the time on my days off.

Jarrod Wallace (Titans)

I could go on a diet but as long as I can have a little bit of chocolate every day then I'm happy. It's usually peanut M&Ms or something with chocolate nuts.

Nathaniel Roache (Warriors)

Being in Auckland still I am always with Mum and she makes great meals so her baking would be the one. The chocolate muffins, when she makes them I can eat a ton of them. During the season I try and stay away from them.

Ben Hunt (Broncos)

Umm I have a few... My biggest would probably be KFC. I love me a bit of the Colonel!

Cody Walker (Rabbitohs)

Probably ribs and some chips. That's the biggest cheat meal I tend to have.

Tyson Frizell (Dragons)

I always have Crust pizza after a game – half peri peri, half meatlovers. I've been going with that pretty much all year after games. The one time I bought it from a different place, we lost.

Anthony Cherrington (Rabbitohs)

I love pork rolls. There's a little place in Mascot that I've been going to since I was 12 years old. I'm addicted to them. The mayonnaise they put on them is off the chain.

Max King (Titans)

I'd probably say KFC. Cheap Tuesdays. If I'm watching the footy at home, I see when they go to the video ref they have those $2.50 chips and gravy... The refs need to stop sending it upstairs.

Jacob Lillyman (Warriors)

It's hard to find in New Zealand but I love a good chicken parmigiana with chips and salad. My mouth drools when I think of that. My missus gets a bit annoyed because when we go back to Aus for the off-season and we go out for dinner I am always ordering that.

Cam McInnes (Dragons)

I'm a big American BBQ fan so I love all the slow-cooked meats like ribs, brisket and pulled pork. I've got a couple of places that I visit in Sydney when I'm up there that really hit the spot.

Dale Copley (Titans)

Pizza. I like supreme. It's got to have mushrooms and olives on it.

Tim Lafai (Dragons)

We've got a pretty good doughnut shop at our local mall. I take the little ones there and buy some doughnuts and a milkshake.
