Player Poll: Young talent worth investing in

Every year breathtaking new talent comes into the Telstra Premiership to wow not only fans but the fellow first-graders they are lining up against. We asked today's stars which excitement machines of tomorrow they would most like to buy shares in.

Adam Blair (Broncos)

You have to go a half. I'll go Ash Taylor. Halfbacks are commanding all the money these days so if I am putting shares on any young kid it has to be a half!

Kevin Naiqama (Wests Tigers)

There's a few coming up. The second-rower for Bulldogs, Adam Elliott, he's one that's definitely got a big future.

Jacob Lillyman (Warriors)

I was trying to think of someone a bit away from the usual, but I'll say Kalyn Ponga. If you talk about investing in shares, he is a bit of a blue chip. I don't think you will go wrong there. I have never met the kid but from all reports he is very level-headed, works extremely hard and the icing on top is that he is a phenomenal talent.

Tevita Pangai Jnr (Broncos)

Tom Trbojevic. He's pretty fast and pretty handy. He was playing some good footy before he got injured but he always seems to come back better after his injuries.

Tim Grant (Wests Tigers)

If I was a betting man it would be Nathan Cleary – he's the next million-dollar man. Give me some shares in him, maybe six per cent.

Dale Copley (Titans)

Everyone seems to be talking about Coen Hess at the moment. His stocks certainly appear to be on the rise.

Matt McIlwrick (Wests Tigers)

I played with Connor Watson at the Roosters. I think he's got a big future wherever he ends up. He's a dangerous player and he would be the one to look out for once he gets settled.

Chris Heighington (Sharks)

It would have to be Valentine Holmes – fast, good looking and he'll have endorsements coming through the roof so there is still money to be made. And Jason Taumalolo because he's already got the 10-year deal so he's already making the money and got the security.

Josh McGuire (Broncos)

Anthony Milford would be pretty good to have a stake in. His shares would be pretty high at the moment. If you're looking for a long-term investment he's the guy to be on to be honest.

Aaron Woods (Wests Tigers)

Probably James Tedesco. People forget he's still only 24 and will probably be the world's next best fullback.

John Sutton (Rabbitohs)

Angus Crichton has probably been one our best players this year and I think he's only going to get better. I knew he was an impressive kid going into this year, but the way he's been performing for us has been incredible. He's a strong runner of the ball, has speed and he's a great defender. I think he's a player of the future for this club and he'll probably play Origin and for Australia if he keeps his head down.

Jason Clark (Rabbitohs)

I think Angus Crichton and Cam Murray are two young players who are going really well at the moment. They've got their heads screwed on and are on the right path going forward.
