- Biography:
A local Victorian junior, Tonumaipea progressed through Storm’s junior pathways before making his debut in 2014.
After leaving the club in 2018, Tonumaipea returned midway through the 2022 season, enjoying his first full season back in Storm colours in 2023.
After two games in the centre for Rounds 1 and 2, Tonumaipea headed north to Melbourne’s feeder club the Sunshine Coast Falcons where his form across those 15 games made him hard to keep out of the NRL side, going on to make seven-straight appearances.
The local Victorian scored three tries throughout the campaign, including one in his 50th appearance in the purple jersey in Round 24.
He also showed he was a damaging ball runner, racking up 24 tackle breaks and five line breaks, causing headaches for opposition defensive lines.
His 2023 season was capped off with selection in the Samoan squad for the Pacific Championships.
