Valingi was Initially signed on a development contract for the 2022 season with an upgrade to the full NRL squad for 2023 and 2024.
An Aorere College product, he appeared for the One New Zealand Warriors’ foundation SG Ball Cup (under-18 side) in 2020, before being based in Australia where he played in both Queensland’s colts and Intrust Super Cup competitions for feeder club Redcliffe.
Unfortunately Valingi has been ruled out for the 2023 season.
He was the victim of an “unfortunate injury” when he was caught under his weight and that of his opponent in a wrestling session during the preseason. He suffered a severe left foot Lisfranc injury which required season-ending surgery.
