Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles.

Manly have released promising forward Willis Meehan from the remaining two years of his contract, with the former Roosters player deciding to focus on a career in professional boxing.

Meehan, 21, made one first grade appearance for the Tricolours in 2014 before signing with the Sea Eagles in mid-2016.

"It was decided it was in the best interest of all concerned that Willis made a commitment to one sport," Gareth Holmes, Sea Eagles NRL Football Operations Manager, said via a club statement.

"With the time needed in an NRL full-time squad, Willis chose to go in a different direction and we wish him well in his endeavours."
