Craig Bellamy is giving his players a chance to rest their bumps and bruises before they face an in-form Rabbitohs team on Saturday afternoon.
The Storm coach wants to give his top 17 as much game time as possible but also has had to juggle the impact of a torrid season.
While the visitors only have pride to play for as they've missed out playing finals, Bellamy says his side has plenty of motivation to put in a good performance despite already having the minor premiership wrap up.
"We had a little bit of a let down early in the week in that we gave them one training session off," Bellamy said.
"We thought it was important to freshen them up a bit because they've been working really hard. But the next day we were back into it, and they were great. I can't see any let down [going into the Rabbitohs match].
"A few guys are playing for some positions as well. It all adds up to everyone's going to be going flat out on Saturday night."
Bellamy isn't concerned about the Rabbitohs' recent form that has seen them go on a three-game winning streak.
"Going into finals games, you're usually playing sides with momentum. That's why they're there," he said.
"At the end of the day, it's the way the draw is. Where they've got momentum or they haven't, you've still got to play them. I'm sure they are looking to continue that run and finish the season on a strong note. But we've got plenty to play for too."
The Storm mentor said he was impressed with the Rabbitohs' younger players who've made an impact this year, pointing to lock Cameron Murray as a fast improver, and nominated Sam, George and Thomas Burgess as ones to watch.
"They're a strong, physical side," Bellamy said.
"Their outside backs are really strong and carry the ball [well]. In their forwards, the three Burgess boys add a bit of size and oomph into their attack. Just watching the last few games they've played, they've brought a couple of young guys in who've really added something to him.
"They look like they're really mature guys, especially young Murray who plays in the forwards, he's really added something to him. There are a couple of young guys in the backs who've done the same."
Bellamy said there was no real temptation for the Storm to try anything different in their game plan for final next two rounds of the regular season.
"I don't think semi-finals are about party tricks to be quite honest," he said.
"There might be one or two things, but it certainly won't be a big part of your plan."
