NRL Live Pass Terms and Conditions 2020

The Official NRL App is a collaboration between the NRL and Telstra. As such, your use of the Official NRL App will be governed by both the NRL’s and Telstra’s terms and conditions of use and privacy policies.

NRL Live Pass Terms and Conditions 2020

Purchase a Weekly, Monthly or Annual Pass (In-App purchase required) and you will be able to access the following Premium Content:

  • Watch all 192 games from the 2018 NRL Telstra Premiership regular season live on your mobile device
  • The elimination, qualifying, semi and preliminary finals are also available to live steam on NRL Live Pass.
  • Exclusive live post-match press conferences
  • Live coverage of pre-season fixtures such as the NRL Nines, All Stars and World Club Challenge matches, and the Anzac Test match between Australia and New Zealand

Terms of Use: NRL Live Pass Subscribers

Subscription to the NRL Live Pass is only available on the NRL Official App.

Customers must download the NRL Official App and subscribe through the app in order to use NRL Live Pass.

NRL Live pass is included in Telstra Mobile plans. Telstra Mobile customers can get an NRL Live Pass subscription as part of their mobile plan – see "Season Pass" details below.

Non-Telstra customers may access live streaming and premium content, via an NRL Live Pass, for a recurring subscription fee of $3.99 per week, $14.99 per month or $99.99 per year (365 days).

New customers can enjoy a free two week trial with a Weekly, Monthly or Annual subscription. The NRL Live Pass can be cancelled at any point during or after the trial.

After the free two week trial period, you will be automatically billed $3.99 every 7 days, $14.99 every month, or $99.99 for the first year (365 days), to your nominated credit card, until you cancel your subscription.

When you agree to purchase either subscription package, your purchase is with the Apple App store or Google Play store. If you have a billing issue to resolve, you should contact the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

Your subscription can be managed through the App Store or Play Store.

You will have access to the NRL Live Pass until the end of the period you have paid for (e.g. end of week). At the end of the subscription period, you can still keep using all the free content Telstra provides in the NRL App, but you won’t be able to access any premium content.

Changes to NRL Live Pass in 2018

Due to changes in the NRL Digital Rights agreement from 2018 to 2022, the NRL Grand Final and the three games of the State of Origin Series will not be available to live stream via NRL Live Pass on the NRL Official App.

NRL Live Pass subscribers will be able to live stream all 192 NRL Telstra Premiership regular season matches and eight Finals Series matches. Nines, Trans-Tasman Test and other Elite Matches will also be available on NRL Live Pass.

From 2018, the live streaming of matches will no longer be available on laptops or PCs. All NRL Live Pass live streaming will be via the NRL Official App only.

From December 4, 2017 the NRL Official App will no longer be available on Windows phone devices.

Terms of Use: 2020 Season Pass for NRL Live Pass

We know you’re keen to start watching, but first here’s the legal stuff. It’s a good idea to have a read so you’re across how the 2020 Season Pass for NRL Live Pass (“Season Pass”) works.

If you’re a Telstra mobile customer with a current post-paid, pre-paid ($30+ active recharges) or mobile broadband plan, a Season Pass is included as part of your post-paid plan or when you maintain a $30+ active pre-paid recharge.

You can activate your Season Pass until 31 December 2020 using your compatible Telstra mobile or tablet on the Telstra mobile network, by downloading the NRL Official app from the app stores (data charges apply) and following the prompts.

Video data usage for the Season Pass is unmetered within Australia when using your compatible Telstra device on the Telstra mobile network (this excludes usage at Telstra Air hotspots).

Post-paid customers who remain on an eligible post-paid plan can keep watching until 31 Jan 2021.

Pre-paid customers can keep watching until 31 Jan 2021 or 60 days from your last $30+ recharge, whichever is earlier. You must continue to recharge at least $30 on a Telstra Pre-Paid offer in order to continue accessing the Season Pass until 31 Jan 2021.

Your Season Pass can only be used in Australia.

A season Pass will not replace or cancel any existing NRL In-App subscription purchased via the App Store or Play Store. Please refer to our FAQs for more information at https://help.nrl.com

Terms of Use: NRL Live Pass Vouchers

NRL Live Pass Vouchers (Vouchers) may from time to time be given away by Telstra, the NRL, NRL Clubs or third parties as part of promotional or advertising campaigns. Vouchers consist of unique codes that must be registered as part of your NRL Live Pass subscription process, in order to redeem the corresponding credit value.

To redeem a voucher, you must be a new NRL Live Pass customer and use the voucher before its expiry date.

The expiry date of the Voucher will be confirmed when the Voucher is registered on the Service. On the date of expiration, the expiry will take effect from midnight AEST. Vouchers may not be refunded either in whole or in part. After expiration any unused credit may not be reclaimed. Vouchers may not be redeemed for cash.

Vouchers can be redeemed in the NRL Official App.

Terms of Use: NRL In-App Subscribers

The Apple App Store or Google Play subscription will not replace any existing NRL Live Pass subscription.

Apple App Store Subscribers: You may access premium content for $3.99 per week, $14.99 per month, or $99.99 per year. You will be billed $3.99 every 7 days, $14.99 every month, or $99.99 every 365 days until you cancel your subscription. Your subscription will automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24-hours before the end of the current period.

New customers can enjoy a free two week trial with a Weekly, Monthly or Annual subscription. The NRL Live Pass can be cancelled at any point during or after the trial.

After the free two week trial period, you will be automatically billed $3.99 every 7 days, $14.99 every month, or $99.99 for the first year (365 days), to your nominated credit card, until you cancel your subscription.

You will automatically be billed within 24 hours of the end of your current subscription period. To suspend the auto-renewal of your live pass go to the App Store or iTunes 'Account Settings' Once Auto-renewal has been turned off, you will still have access until the end date of the subscription.

When you purchase either a weekly, monthly, or yearly subscription, your purchase is via the Apple App Store not with Telstra. If you have a billing issue to resolve, you should contact the Apple App Store.

The trial is not available to customers who have previously taken up an In-App subscription.

Terms of Use: The Official NRL App for NRL Live Pass and In-App Subscribers

The Official NRL App is available from the App Store and Google Play Store for customers to download on their compatible smartphone or tablet device in order to access live and premium content using an active NRL Live Pass account or In-app subscription. By downloading this application you accept the following terms. If you don't agree to be bound by these terms, you must not download this application.

Airplay or Chromecast mirroring and any form of external video output of streamed content is not permitted and is not provided as part of any NRL Live Pass.

Telstra’s agreement with the NRL restricts the display of live match videos to a 7 inch screen, match highlights and match replays are available for viewing in full screen size.

Standard data charges apply when downloading or using the Official NRL App. Video data usage is unmetered only for eligible Telstra customers.

Live match videos are only available to users watching in Australia and may be delayed in your location based on the NRL's broadcast schedule. When you subscribe to the NRL Live Pass or an in-app subscription you agree as the relevant mobile service account holder, to Telstra and its agents collecting and using the location of your mobile handset to provide you with live match videos.

Network Connectivity

This Application requires Network Connectivity to function properly. Please note that poor signal quality (dependent on your location and service provider) may slow down or prevent the Application from working at optimum speed. If you have concerns regarding the quality of your signal strength, please contact your mobile network service provider directly.

Unmetering

Standard data charges apply when downloading or using the app. Video data usage for live game streaming is currently unmetered only for certain Telstra customers in respect of supported devices.

Video data usage for live game streaming is only unmetered for the following Telstra services:

  • BigPond ADSL/Cable/NBN
  • Telstra mobile handsets / tablets with any Telstra SIM (excluding International Roaming)
  • Telstra Mobile Broadband (Dongles and mobile Wi-Fi hotspots) with any Telstra SIM (excluding BigPond Wireless Broadband and International Roaming)

Telstra services excluded from unmetering:

  • BigPond Wireless Broadband
  • International Roaming
  • Telstra Business Broadband
  • BigPond Internet (Dial Up/ Satellite/ Hourly Plans)
  • Telstra Air

Note: When accessing premium content, a connection charge may apply while accessing the live content server.

Location Services

This Application requires location services to be enabled on your device to determine the Nine Network or Fox Sports match that is applicable to your location.

The App is only proactively supported and tested on devices running on iOS 10 and above and Android 6 and above.

From December 4, 2017, the NRL Official App will not be available on Windows Phone.

From 29 August 2017, customers will no longer be able to purchase an NRL Live Pass subscription via NRL.com/livepass. NRL Live Pass subscriptions will only be available via the NRL Official App.

Can I still watch NRL games on my Laptop or PC?

From December 4 2017 onwards, access to live match video via a computer was removed. To access extended match highlights and full match replays on your computer, link the Live Pass to an NRL Account. Refer to the FAQs or contact Telstra Crowd Support at http://crowdsupport.telstra.com.au. for further support.
