Former Queensland and Sharks centre Chris McKenna will give fans a unique view of the inaugural Toyota Under 20s State of Origin tonight with Fox Sports using ground-breaking “Third Eye” glasses on Rugby League for the first time ever.

As trainer for the Maroons in the match at Penrith’s Centrebet Stadium, McKenna will be wearing the Third Eye glasses introduced to maximise the viewing experience for people at home, giving them an extra point of view as close to the action as possible.

FOX Sports Executive Producer – NRL, Ben Jones, said the glasses have never been used in Rugby League and had so far only been seen on Big Bash Cricket and AFL broadcasts, mainly on umpires.

“The hope is to eventually use them at NRL level on referees and touch judges,” Jones said.
