The first public ticket allocation for the 2012 NRL Telstra Premiership Grand Final is officially sold out, just a day after Rugby League announced the biggest broadcast rights deal in its history.

Members and fans will have just one final opportunity to secure a seat for the biggest game of the year with approximately 14,000 tickets held back for sale to Ticketed Club Members of the two competing NRL Grand Final teams.

Those tickets will go on sale from 10am-7pm on Monday, September 24, with any remaining tickets to then be made available to the general public from 10am Tuesday, September 25.

“It has been an incredible couple of days for the game,” NRL Interim Chief Executive, Mr Shane Mattiske, said today.

“The anticipation and excitement for what lies ahead in the final two rounds and throughout the Telstra Premiership Finals Series highlights just why we have secured such a significant broadcast rights deal.”

ANZ Stadium Managing Director, Mr Daryl Kerry, said the early sell-out of public tickets to the NRL Telstra Premiership Grand Final was further evidence of Rugby League’s burgeoning popularity.

“This year’s Grand Final promises to be a unique event with a carnival precinct around ANZ Stadium giving fans a game-day experience unlike anything in the past,” Mr Kerry said.

“The NRL Grand Final has always been a very special day on the Sydney sporting calendar and fans this year will be engaged throughout the day.

“We believe NRL Grand Final day can grow to rival any sporting event of its kind in the world.”
