Every month throughout the season, we'll be announcing a One Community Good Guy of the month to highlight the fantastic work that our players are doing in the community.
The March winner of the Good Guy of the Month is Justin Carney from the Canberra Raiders.
Justin recently committed himself to delivering a 6 week program at Roseary Primary School (a local primary school in Canberra) to assist the children in developing their motor skills. He arranged this himself as a way of contributing to the local community and is completing these sessions on his days off.
He has already completed 3 sessions at the school and the kids are loving it!
Justin also took part in the One Community Carnival, travelling to Nyngan, Cobar and Bourke to run skills clinics and talk to school kids about how it’s important to Eat Well, Play Well and Stay Well. Justin also assisted in the Macquarie Sports Clinic in Canberra which had 500 children attending (all kids aged between 5 – 7 years).
He is assisting in running rotating workshops with the children focusing on different skills.
For his fantastic contribution to the community, Justin has won a weekend away for two at the Old Sydney Holiday Inn at The Rocks in Sydney, courtesy of International Hotels Group.
