Queensland fans have thrown down the challenge to NSW after tickets for Game 3 of the Harvey Norman State of Origin Series in Brisbane sold out in just a few hours.
And Maroons fans are already snapping up seats for Game 2 at Sydney’s ANZ Stadium on June 24.
Tickets for Game 3 of the Harvey Norman State of Origin Series at Suncorp Stadium on Wednesday, July 15 went on sale this morning with all but 600 single seat tickets sold within 40 minutes.
The remaining tickets sold out by early afternoon.
The Queensland supporter bay ticket allocation for ANZ Stadium has already been increased twice as Maroons fans snap up seats for a match that could determine the 2009 series.
“It is only a small allocation but tickets in the Queensland supporter sections for the Sydney match have sold above expectation,” NRL Director, Marketing and Commercial, Paul Kind said today.
“There has already been great support from fans for the opening match in Melbourne and tickets are selling well for the game in Sydney so I would encourage Blues fans to get in now and grab the best seats available for the opening two matches.”
The Maroons supporters’ bay is 144 in Category 3, with the $60 ticket including a Maroon wig.
The Blatchy’s Blues supporters’ area for NSW Aussie Blues fans is situated in Bays 116-118. The Category 3 seats cost $60 and include a supporter’s T-shirt and blue wig.
NSW Aussie Blues fans can also obtain a special $100 ticket-jersey offer at the Sydney Royal Easter Show.
Fans who purchase an Aussie Blues jersey for $100 (normally $160) will receive a free Category 2 ticket to Game 2 of the Harvey Norman State of Origin Series in Sydney.
The special offer is available from the NRL Merchandise Van located in the Sports and Adventure Alley.
