<p>One of the Broncos’ hardest hitters was today recognised for his softer side as One Community named Nick Kenny its Good Guy of the Month for April. </p> <p> The tough prop, who also works as a physiotherapist, is among Rugby League’s most committed supporters of charity and community groups, but it’s the time he spends in the gym helping a young Broncos fan battle spina bifida that makes him stand out as the second Good Guy of the Month. </p> <p> The One Community Good Guy of the Month award acknowledges the inspiring work NRL players are doing in the community throughout the season. </p> <p> Winners receive two nights accommodation at the Holiday Inn chain of hotels. </p> <p> Last month Raider Justin Carney won the award for his volunteer work at a local school. </p> <p> Nick is the face of Trip of a Lifetime, which raises funds for brain tumour sufferer Thuy Nguyen, and also spends his spare time visiting halfway houses and prisons offering motivational advice through the group Queenslanders in the Community. </p> <p> Nick has also recently started using his physiotherapy skills to work with young Broncos fan Alan, who has spina bifida. </p> <p> Several times a week Nick can be found in the gym taking Alan through a 45-minute workout to build the strength in his leg muscles and his self confidence. </p> <p> “Nick is a wonderful example of the significant work our players are doing in the community,” NRL Director, Community Relations, Trish Crews, said. </p> <p> “His selfless work with Alan is particularly inspiring and makes him a role model not only for his teammates, but for the whole community.” </p> <p> Other nominees for this month’s award include: </p> <ul> <li>Eric Grothe and Kevin Kingston (Eels)</li> <li>Willie Tonga and Donald Malone (Cowboys)</li> <li>Anthony Minichiello (Roosters)</li> <li>Jarrod Sammut (Panthers)</li> <li>Jaiman Lowe (Rabbitohs)</li> <li>Justin Poore (Dragons)</li>
