The WOW Brisbane Broncos under 20s have scored a flurry of second half tries to defeat the Bulldogs 40-16 at Suncorp Stadium this evening.

The Broncos began the second half strong as interchange player Tariq Sims barged his way over the try line carrying three Bulldogs defenders with him. Halfback Ben Hunt converted putting the Broncos in front 16-10, 43 minutes in to the match.

A massive bust up field by winger Dane Gagai led to Broncos centre Josh Williams racing away to score in the corner. Hunt added the extras giving the Broncos a healthy 22-10 lead, 47 minutes in.

A great run by interchange player Rhys Matsen paved the way for fullback Todd Murphy to pounce on a Hunt grubber in goal and score. Hunt added the extras the Broncos were now well in front 28-10, 51 minutes in.

The Broncos were explosive up the middle through hooker Kurt Baptiste, but poor handling let them down. A short ball from Baptiste allowed for big prop David Hala to bulldoze his way over the try line. Hunt converted from in front to give the Broncos a commanding 34-10 lead with 15 minutes remaining.

A massive bust from Sims almost had the Broncos over again but they failed to hang on to the ball.

The Bulldogs scored a late try against the run of play to five-eighth Ben Barba, he converted his own try to narrow the gap 34-16 with 10 minutes of play remaining.

Baptiste again dominated around the ruck flying up field to score under the posts. Hunt converted to extend the lead to a 40-16 whitewash with five minutes remaining.
