The change of time and venue did nothing to stop the Melbourne Storm Toyota Cup juggernaut from recording their 11th win of the season in impressive style over the junior Rabbitohs.

On a sunny Saturday afternoon at North Sydney Oval, the Storm only took eight minutes to score their opening try with fullback Gareth Widdop continuing his point scoring spree in 2009, cutting through the Rabbitohs defence.

From there, the visitors scored another two tries through Jesse Browmich and Fred Makimare to race out a 16 – 0 lead after just 18 minutes before the Rabbitohs hit back.

Two quick tries through centre, Dylan Farrell, and loose-forward, Jason Clark, saw the Rabbitohs get back within six points of the visitors, before the Storm hit back, with a try just on the verge of half time via centre-three-quarter, Sam Joe to take a twelve point lead into the sheds.
