The NSW Aussie Blues team will celebrate the role of women in the game when they meet with 170 volunteers and staff at the Harvey Norman Women in League dinner at the Central Coast’s Magenta Shores on Wednesday night, June 17.

Joining the team at Magenta Shores will be NRL Chief Executive, Mr David Gallop, and local women involved in the game from grassroots volunteers and employees through to Telstra Premiership support staff and senior executives.

Mr Gallop said the game could not function without women.

“We now have more than 40,000 female volunteers at the grassroots of Rugby League,” he said.

“These functions are an important step in thanking those women who play such a vital part in our sport.”

The dinner is the fourth and final Harvey Norman Women in League function this season after successful events in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane in which more than 800 women have been acknowledged for their contribution to the game.

The event follows on from the Harvey Norman Women in League Round last weekend in which NRL clubs acknowledged and celebrated the contribution of women to the game.
