Bulldogs fans are encouraged to attend this Friday night’s game at ANZ Stadium with a can of food to support the Bulldogs annual Salvation Army food drive.

Bringing a can of food may not be a standard fare at a footy game but this Friday it will be used to assist needy people in the Bulldogs heartland of south west Sydney.

The Salvation Army Campsie regional community welfare centre will be manning collection points at ANZ Stadium ready to receive the much needed non-perishable food or monetary donations to assist the Salvation Army in the crisis work they carry out.

Major Lyn Prince, manager of the Campsie Salvation Army centre is calling on the local community to dig deep to help contribute to the $400,000 worth of material aid distributed to local families in the last year.

“Our own resources are stretched to the limit and we rely heavily on the extra support that comes from the public. This ongoing support is vital to meet the growing needs of families in this community.”

The Bulldogs will also be hosting the local Salvation Army choir consisting 100 schools kids from Campsie and Harcourt Public School – two of the most financially disadvantaged in the State. The Campsie Salvation Army band will also be playing upbeat tunes around the concourse.

Please join the Bulldogs by giving generously and bring a can of food to the game!
