An unprecedented rush on NRL Telstra Premiership Grand Final tickets has led to a sell-out on the first day of public sales.

The only chance to book a seat now will come in Grand Final week when the final allocation of 14,000 tickets will be released with Club Members of the two Grand Final teams having the first opportunity to buy.

Tickets today sold at a rapid rate from the moment they went on sale at 9am and by late this afternoon only a handful of single and sight-restricted tickets remained available.

The demand for tickets in 2009 has smashed previous marks, confirming that this year’s Telstra Premiership race is building towards one of the most anticipated showdowns in memory.

“We have had an enormous demand for tickets so far and that reflects the quality of the footy we are seeing and the excitement among our fans about the finals race,” NRL Chief Executive, Mr David Gallop, said today.

The NRL will release the final allocation of tickets to Ticketed Club Members of the NRL Grand Final teams on Monday, September 28.

All remaining tickets will then be released for sale to the general public on Tuesday, September 29.

NRL Telstra Premiership Grand Final tickets will be available through Ticketek outlets, on 132 849 or www.ticketek.com.au/nrlgrandfinal.

NRL Grand Final ticket prices (listed below) have not increased and are the same as last year.

The NRL Telstra Premiership Grand Final will kick-off at 5pm on Sunday, October 4, at ANZ Stadium, Sydney Olympic Park.
