VB Kangaroos front rower Brett White has issued the following statement regarding the date clash of the squad’s departure for the Gillette Four Nations tour and his wedding:<br><br>“Cassie and I spoke at length about the issue and, at the end of the day, she has told me she wants me to tour,” White said.<br><br>“I always knew women in league played an important role but I’ve obviously lucked out with the best woman in the business.<br><br>“We will now re-schedule the wedding for later in the year.<br><br>“It’s been an extremely trying time for both of us and it’s obviously going to be an expensive outcome because postponing a wedding at the last minute is not a simple exercise.<br><br>“But we are in love and are great mates and I’m grateful that she’s prepared to make this sacrifice for me.<br><br>“I am very relieved that I have Cassie’s support and that I am able to focus on the tour now.” <br><br>Chief Executive of the Australian Rugby League, Geoff Carr said:<br><br>“Had Brett wished to seek compassionate leave from the tour for several days it would have been considered by the Australian Rugby League.<br><br>“However Brett and Cassie have now made some alternate plans together and we certainly wish them the best for their upcoming marriage.”<br>
