The Les Chanticleers have been served a blow in the lead up to their first Gillette Four Nations clash against England after Casey McGuire pulled out of the squad.

Citing that he needs rest after "an exhausting Super League season", McGuire will join fellow former NRL player, Adam Mogg on the sidelines for the tournament.

With McGuire stepping down, France has been left with just a 22-man squad for the tournament.

The French will play their first match of the tournament at Doncaster’s Keepmoat Stadium this Friday.

Les Chanticleers: (Catalans unless stated): Greenshields, Pelo, Bosc, Raguin, Moly (Carcassonne), Sadaoui (Carcassonne), Greseque (Pia), Duport, Vaccari (UTC), Stacul, Villegas (Toulouse), K Bentley, Elima (captain), Ferriol, Fakir, Gossard, Baile, Casty, Martins, Touxagas, Gagliazzo (Carcassonne), Griffi (Toulouse)
