In case you haven’t worked it out by now I am a New South Welshmen, and a proud one at that. But you have to really hand it to the Maroons. Five series in a row and a clean-sweep is just phenomenal!

In my humble opinion, the greatest Origin side of all time has graced the pitch for the past four years (the first of their series victories in 2006 had some real luck in Game Three) and we have been lucky to witness them in the flesh.

Thurston and Lockyer are as dominant, if not more so, than Wally Lewis and Allan Langer; Cameron Smith would give either Kerrod or Steve Walters a run for their money; and Billy Slater certainly gets the nod over Gary Belcher.

Inglis is more elusive than big Mal Meninga, and Petero Civoniceva… he is probably a cyborg. Seriously, someone check him out! (Did you know he actually puts degreaser on his knees after games… I’m not kidding, I have seen him do it!)

What about Lockyer’s field goal? Sublime stuff. And even when facing adversity, being down inside the final 10 minutes and having next-to-no field position for the first 30 minutes of the second section, the Maroons came downfield and executed to perfection. Yep, you've just got to shake your head in awe.

A few weeks ago, after Game One, we broke down the Dream Team scores for the match and found the Blues were actually victorious. Running the numbers further and believe it or not it is a clean-sweep to the Blues… a 3-0 whitewash of their own! I guess this proves this season's Dream Team scoring system rewards defence, as the Blues had to do plenty of it in each of the three games!

The Blues ‘won’ Game One 513-464. They then took the series with a 438-401 victory in the second match. And last night they prevailed 468-362. Over the three matches this tallies a 1419-1227 points match-up. (The average score was 473-409.)

The entire individual scoring breakdown for all three matches is at the bottom of this column. First though, let’s highlight some interesting findings:

The MVP in terms of total points for the series was New South Wales hooker Michael Ennis with 110 (what's doing, Mick? Where's this form at the Bulldogs?!). Kurt Gidley was next on 104 points and Maroons skipper Darren Lockyer came in third with 100. Fourth place went to Anthony Watmough with 98 points (from just two games) and fifth went to Sam Thaiday and his 97-point haul.

The best average score went to Blues’ Game One pivot Jamie Lyon who grabbed 50 points in his lone appearance. Next was Watmough with a 49-point average, while another Game One discard, Brett Kimmorley, was third with a 47-point average. Equal fourth was Cameron Smith and Greg Bird, who averaged 45 points a game.

Ennis and Watmough took high individual score in game one with 57, a total that ended up being a series high individual score. Cameron Smith topped scored in game two with 44 points while last night’s top scorer was Paul Gallen with 52 points. Special mention goes to Kurt Gidley for a 49-point haul from the bench.

Brett Morris took the honour of the worst Dream Team score over the series, following a solid zero last night in the third game. Other single-digit efforts came from Matt Cooper (five points) and Jamal Idris (nine points) in Game One, Nate Myles (nine points) in Game Two, and Dave Taylor (eight points) and Israel Folau (eight points) in Game Three.

Johnathan Thurston cracked a new ‘high’ by missing 13 tackles in Game Three, damaging his point-scoring.

Anyway, for those of you interested, the breakdowns are below. With the rep season now over and just this mini-bye round to get through this week, the Dream Team competition is really heating up. Those of you in head-to-head battles should be really stacking your sides now and those of you without trades and going for the big prize need to start praying you don’t suffer injuries… Glenn Buttriss and Issac Luke have been killer blows for a few.

Good Luck this week – and don’t forget to bench your Dragons and Broncos!

2010 Origin Series Breakdown

The scoring categories for Dream Team are as follows: TRIES, (4) GOALS (2), FIELD GOALS (1), TRY ASSISTS (2), METRES GAINED (Total /10), LINE-BREAKS (2), LINE-BREAK ASSISTS (2), TACKLES (1), MISSED TACKLES (-1), OFFLOADS (2), ERRORS (-2), KICK METRES (Total /20), PENALTIES (-2)

GAME ONE

Fullbacks
Kurt Gidley (NSW): 0,0,0,2,20,2,0,6,-3,0,-2,5,0 = 30
Billy Slater (Qld): 4,0,0,0,10,2,0,2,0,0,-2,0,0 = 16

Left Wing
Brett Morris (NSW): 0,0,0,0,6,0,0,6,0,0,0,0,0 = 12
Darius Boyd (Qld): 4,0,0,2,12,4,0,0,0,2,-2,0,0 = 22

Left Centre
Matt Cooper (NSW): 0,0,0,0,2,0,0,6,-1,0,-2,0,0 = 5
Greg Inglis (Qld): 4,0,0,0,7,0,2,14,-4,0,-4,0,0 = 19

Right Centre
Timana Tahu (NSW): 0,0,0,0,6,0,0,17,-1,0,0,0,0 = 22
Willie Tonga (Qld): 0,0,0,0,8,0,0,14,0,0,0,0,0 = 22

Right Wing
Jarryd Hayne (NSW): 4,0,0,0,11,0,0,7,-2,0,-4,0,0 = 16
Israel Folau (Qld): 0,0,0,0,10,0,0,7,0,0,-4,0,0 = 13

Five-Eighth
Jamie Lyon (NSW): 0,8,0,4,4,0,4,22,-1,2,0,7,0 = 50
Darren Lockyer (Qld): 4,0,0,0,4,2,0,17,-3,0,-2,29,-2 = 49

Halfback
Brett Kimmorley (NSW): 0,0,0,0,6,0,0,26,-4,2,0,17,0 = 47
Johnathan Thurston (Qld): 0,8,0,4,4,0,2,15,-8,4,-2,13,-2 = 38

Prop
Michael Weyman (NSW): 0,0,0,0,9,0,0,26,0,4,0,0,-2 = 37
Josh Perry (NSW): 0,0,0,0,4,0,0,18,-2,0,0,0,-2
