Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs Captain Andrew Ryan has today joined forces with Parramatta Eels Captain Nathan Cayless to officially launch the 2010 Bandaged Bear Cup. <br><br> The Launch took place at Doltone House, Jones Bay Wharf, ahead of the Bulldogs inaugural SMS (Sports, Media & Social Responsibility) Luncheon. <br><br> This will be the fourth year that the Bandaged Bear Cup will be played at ANZ Stadium to recognise the tireless work and dedication of The Children’s Hospital at Westmead’s staff and volunteers. <br><br> 10,000 hospital staff and their families will be special guests at ANZ Stadium on Friday 23 July, with 300 hospital staff taking part in a parade of honour at half time. The Children’s Hospital at Westmead’s mascot Bandaged Bear will lead the parade. <br><br> “2010 is the fourth year of the Bandaged Bear Cup, and each year has been bigger and better than the last," Bulldogs CEO Todd Greenberg said. “It's an important event in our annual community calendar and is a good way for our two Clubs to recognise the fantastic job that the staff at The Children's Hospital at Westmead do.” <br><br> "We are excited to be involved in the Bandaged Bear Cup again this year to further support The Children's Hospital at Westmead, who we have a long-standing relationship with,” said Parramatta Eels CEO Paul Osborne. “We value the commitment of the staff and volunteers who work tirelessly for the kids and this is a great way to recognise their efforts." <br><br> "The Bandaged Bear Cup is the biggest annual charity event held at ANZ Stadium and we're immensely proud to be the host venue," said ANZ Stadium Managing Director, Daryl Kerry. <br><br> "It's wonderful to see the Hospital staff, volunteers and their families enjoying a night at the footy and accepting the accolades of a grateful public. They are truly heroes of the community." <br><br> Gilly Paxton, Director of Community Relations and Marketing at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead said, “The Bandaged Bear Cup is recognition of the ongoing commitment staff at The Children's Hospital at Westmead have to improving the lives of sick kids and their families. Thank you to ANZ Stadium, the Bulldogs and the Parramatta Eels for their continued support of our staff and the Bandaged Bear Cup.” <br><br> ANZ Stadium has a formal charitable partnership with The Children’s Hospital at Westmead and is the long-term home ground of the Bulldogs.
