Three NRL players are among the top 10 elite Australian athletes vying for the Philips Sports Dad of the Year Award to be named for Father’s Day on Sunday week (Sept 5).<br><br>Nathan Hindmarsh (Eels), Cameron Smith (Storm) and Sam Perrett (Roosters) could make it a cleansweep for the NRL if they can emulate the feat of inaugural winner John Skandalis (Wests Tigers). <br><br>Skandalis beat a field last year that included three other League legends - Brett Kimmorley, Steve Price and Wendell Sailor - for the award which showcases the contribution Australia’s sporting elite make to their families both on and off the field. <br><br>The Philips Sports Dad of the Year award gives an insight into how athletes from a broad range of sports juggle fatherhood with their sporting commitments. <br><br>This year’s nominated Sports Dads are profiled on a dedicated website <a href=""></a> which includes questions and answers from the players about their families, as well as comments from their wives/partners and children.<br><br>The website also includes never before seen family photos. <br><br>All entrants have the opportunity to win special prizes for their own father this Father’s Day and the winning Philips Sports Dad of the Year will win $5000 to donate to their charity of choice.<br><br>This year’s nominees include a who’s who of footballers across all four codes.<br><br>Representing the AFL’s hopes are Hawthorn’s Sam Mitchell and Sydney Swans captain Brett Kirk; for soccer, former Socceroo John Aloisi and Sydney FC’s Nicky Carle; while Wallaby Nathan Sharpe will carry rugby union’s hopes.<br><br>Also nominated is International cycling superstar Robbie McEwen and current V8 Supercar series leader James Courtney. <br><br>Every person who enters and nominates their favourite Sports Dad has the opportunity to win one of five $5000 Philips Ultimate Father’s Day Grooming Packs, including the 7-in-1 Grooming Kit, Turbo Power Clipper, Stubble Trimmer, Senso Touch series shaver and the global phenomenon Ultimate Bodygroomer, – the all in one grooming solution allowing you to shave everywhere.<br><br>Vote now at <a href="" target="_blank"></a> <br>
