Friday night’s semi-final between Canberra and Wests Tigers has today sold out after a ticket buying spree in which members and fans also snapped up all remaining seats from the first allocation of 2010 NRL Telstra Premiership Grand Final tickets.

Following an enthralling opening week of the Telstra Premiership Finals Series, thousands of fans today snapped up tickets for the Raiders-Wests Tigers semi-final in Canberra on Friday night, leaving only 50 tickets reserved for Raiders and Wests Tigers supporters who purchase memberships for 2011. The first allocation of Grand Final tickets that went on sale in late July also sold out today with members and fans now having one last opportunity to purchase tickets for the decider on October 3 at ANZ Stadium at the start of Telstra Premiership Grand Final Week.

“Each season the speed, power and skill of our players takes the Finals Series to new heights,” NRL Chief Executive, Mr David Gallop, said today.

“Everyone is still talking about the exciting start to the Finals Series and the anticipation ahead of this week’s matches is capturing the imagination of members and fans across the game.

“The Raiders-Tigers match on Friday night is almost sold out and now the challenge is for fans of the Roosters and Panthers to continue getting behind their teams as well.

“Already 68,000 members and fans have snapped up tickets for the Grand Final and there will be one last opportunity to join them when the final tickets are released at the start of Grand Final Week.

Approximately 14,000 Grand Final tickets across all categories will go on sale to Ticketed Club Members of the NRL Grand Final teams on Monday, September 27, with any remaining tickets to be released for sale to the general public the following day.

The NRL Telstra Premiership Grand Final will kick-off at 5pm on Sunday, October 3, at ANZ Stadium, Sydney Olympic Park.
