The Bulldogs extensive cross-section of community programs puts them among the leading contenders for the Telstra One Community NRL Club of the Year title to be presented at the annual One Community Awards on Monday (Sept 27). <br><br> The fourth annual One Community Awards will be hosted during Grand Final week for the first time, with the star-studded cocktail event at Sydney’s Town Hall launching the most exciting array of Telstra Premiership Grand Final week celebrations in the game’s history. <br><br> The One Community Awards pay tribute to the game’s unsung heroes from across the country – the mums, dads, volunteers, coaches, teachers, development officers, clubs and officials – who tirelessly dedicate themselves to helping others enjoy the game. <br><br> The NRL Club of the Year award is one of 10 awards to be presented, and it recognises and rewards an NRL Club which has implemented an outstanding community program through 2010. <br><br> The Bulldogs’ community program encompasses a wide range of programs for organisations including Camp Quality, Beyond Blue, Movember Foundation, Children’s Hospital westmead, Salvation Army, Greening Australia, RSPCA and the Peter “Bullfrog” Moore Foundation. <br><br> Telstra will provide $10,000 towards the winning club’s community program and/or staff development training for community relations staff. <br><br> All 16 NRL clubs are in contention for this award.
