Canterbury Bulldogs Ben Roberts has been ruled out of the historic test match against the Kiwis due to injury. Impressive young up and coming halfback Pita Godinet from the Auckland Vulcans has been called in to replace Roberts.

Coach Steve Price sees no reason for alarm and says his side remains committed to pulling off a huge upset this weekend against the World Champions.

“I’m confident with the squad we have who are a mix of experience and youth,” Price says. “Godinet has trained all week with the team and has developed a good combination in the halves.

“We’re going to give this match everything we have. Come 9pm we’re going to walk off that field with no regrets.”

Canberra star Daniel Vidot has also withdrawn from the team, a decision respected by Rugby League Samoa. Quentin Togaga’e of Souths Logan Magpies moves to fullback which sees domestic player Tanielu Pasene from the Lions club in Samoa to step into the playing squad.
