The VB Kangaroos have thrown their support behind the national White Ribbon campaign in the lead-up to the Four Nations tournament kicking off at Parramatta Stadium this weekend.

White Ribbon ambassador and Kangaroos coach Tim Sheens was joined by 10 Australian players while in camp at Coogee to film a new television commercial for Australia’s only national violence prevention campaign, which focuses on raising awareness to prevent violence against women.

Captain Darren Lockyer, new White Ribbon ambassador Luke Lewis, Petero Civoniceva, Cameron Smith, Billy Slater, Jarryd Hayne, Brett Morris, David Shillington, Tom Learoyd-Lahrs and Matt Scott took time out from training to take part in the TVC.

The Kangaroos and rugby league’s One Community are proud supporters of White Ribbon, with their logo to appear on the Australian jerseys for the Four Nations event, involving Australia, England, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea from October 23 to November 13.

National White Ribbon Day is November 25. For more information go to www.whiteribbonday.org.au
