Rabbitohs forward Sam Burgess has received good news about his shoulder injury which he sustained playing for England against Papua New Guinea on Saturday.

Burgess had scans this morning and has been cleared to begin training with his Rabbitohs team-mates in the New Year as was originally planned.

There is no major damage to the shoulder and with physiotherapy he will be right to commence training in the first week of January.
