Fan will get a chance to watch the two favorites for the 2012 Dally M Award go head to head on Saturday night in the Harvey Norman All Stars match at Skilled Park on the Gold Coast.

Benji Marshall has been named the favourite to take out the 2012 Dally M award, with Cowboys skipper Johnathan Thurston and Eels duo Jarryd Hayne and Chris Sandow also believed to be in the running to take out the NRL's highest individual honour.

Marshall is a $13 favourite to win the medal with TAB Sportsbet, who say the five-eighth's durability will stand him in good stead.

"Marshall finished strongly last year and is more valuable to the Tigers than ever before given the departure of Robert Lui," TAB Sportsbet's Matt Jenkins said.

"He has only missed one game since round 8, 2009, which ensured he opened the man to beat."

Thurston, Sharks captain Paul Gallen and reigning Dally M medallist Billy Slater are also among the favourites, while new Parramatta teammates Hayne and Sandow are rated $26 chances.

"Daly Cherry-Evans is expected to be a marked man in 2012 but he is still Manly’s best hope of claiming the award," Jenkins said.

"Newcastle’s big buy Darius Boyd will be crucial to their success but Kurt Gidley rates a better chance to win the Dally M."

Meanwhile the Indigenous All Stars have been the big movers ($2.05 to $1.80) this week with TAB Sportsbet, and are likely to start even shorter given punter sentiment.

“The fans picked the NRL All Stars but they are not the team our punters want.” Jenkins said.

“The Indigenous All Stars have one of the most electrifying backlines assembled in recent times.”

Ben Barba ($11) is tipped to score the 1st try.
