Newcastle Knights winger James McManus will play his 100th NRL match when the Knights go up against the North Queensland Cowboys at Hunter Stadium on Saturday night.

McManus made his first grade debut for the Knights against the Canterbury Bulldogs in round one of the 2007 season and the 26-year-old says that match still ranks as his favourite in the red and blue.

“My most memorable game would definitely have to be my debut where I got to run out standing a couple of blokes behind Joey Johns which was obviously a bit of a dream for me,” McManus told the Knights website.

“It was a great game and a packed house with about 25,000 there I think and we ended up getting up by a point or something like that and I managed to score a try so it was a great game.”

McManus said it would be an honour to run out in Knights colours for the 100th time on Saturday.
