Two famous foundation clubs go head to head in the second VB NSW Cup Elimination Semi Final when the North Sydney Bears take on the Newtown Jets at Leichhardt Oval.

The second placed Bears will be looking to bounce back after a tight two point loss to the Newcastle Knights last weekend at WIN Jubilee Oval when they take on the Jets in what is sure to be a tight encounter.

Only four points has separated the two teams in their two encounter this year with the Bears securing the win at Henson Park, before both teams fought out a 16-all draw at North Sydney Oval in Round 23.

Bolstered by the return of George Burgess, the Bears will head into the match as slight favourites, though that’s not to say the Newtown side doesn’t feature it’s fair share of NRL talent.

Captained by former Eel, Daniel Mortimer, the Jets will also take the field with fellow Premiership players, Peni Tagive, Justin Carney, Mose Masoe and Anthony Cherrington to name a few.
