Manly and South Sydney have both advanced to the third week of the Telstra Premiership finals with wins over the Cowboys and Raiders respectively, and both teams are now just one win away from a grand final birth.

Tonight on NRL Daily, hosts John Gibbs and Brad Fittler review the matches from week two of the Telstra premiership finals and take a look ahead at this weekend’s grand final qualifiers.

“The key was defence,” says Gibbs in regards to Manly’s victory.

“James Tamou and Matt Scott ran over 400m again this week and the Cowboys didn’t win; that is testament to the Sea Eagles’ defence.”

Fittler believes the Rabbitohs win can also be attributed to their up front muscle.

“Just look at the opening hit-up from Sam Burgess against the Raiders,” Fittler said. “When the Rabbitohs turn up they can beat anyone.”
