Brisbane Broncos forward Corey Parker is excited and pumped at the possibility of playing in the NRL All Stars match, February 9th, 2013 at Suncorp Stadium.
“The All Stars is a fantastic concept,” he said.
“I think over the years we have seen it grow and the community has really jumped on board.
“I am really excited about the game this year, I would love to be a part of it.
“If you are out there and there’s still time to vote, jump on board!
“It will be fantastic – there are a lot of great players involved and to be able to play in the game will be really good.”
There is even a strong suggestion that Corey Parker rang the Coach of the NRL All Stars team, Wayne Bennett to push his case for selection.
“No the rumour is wrong,” laughed Parker.
“I did ring and speak to Wayne but it was just a general conversation.
“I didn’t push him on selecting me for the All Stars game at all.
“I speak to Wayne on a regular basis and it was just a normal catch up over the phone the other day, nothing special.”
The fact that he game was now going to be played at Suncorp Stadium next year was exiting for Parker.
“The venue now being Suncorp Stadium is fantastic,” he said.
“The Brisbane locals can turn out in their droves.
“Hopefully we can get 30 or 40 thousand people there to the game, the home of Rugby League.
“It will be great, I can’t wait.”
