School holidays have never been more healthy and fun for boys and girls this April with Rugby League holiday clinics scheduled right across the country are now open for registration at www.playrugbyleague.com.au.

From Melbourne to Adelaide, Darwin to the Pilbara and across New South Wales and Queensland, trained NRL Development staff will conduct the NRL clinics that teach children Rugby League skills in a safe and enjoyable environment.

“Our Rugby League school holiday programs have been created to suit children of all ages and experience levels and provides an active and economical day out,” General Manager of Game Development, Andrew Hill said.

Eels legend Nathan Hindmarsh and his wife Bonnie are looking forward to getting their boys involved in outdoor activities these holidays.

“We have three incredibly active and busy boys Archie, Buster and Rowdie and having programs available like the NRL school holiday clinics, not only gives mum and dad some respite from the busy days but also helps Nathan and me to balance home and work life too,” Bonnie said.

“The school holiday clinics also give the boys something to look forward to during the holiday break.”

Children can begin playing competitive Rugby League from as young as six years of age and junior teams typically range from Under 6s through to Under 18s.

Team sports and group activities during the holiday break not only provide an outlet for children to be active, but can also help with vital life-lessons in personal values, team work and relationship building skills.

Sport also plays a part in the development of motor-skills, cognitive development, listening skills and taking instructions as well as learning valuable social skills, including cooperation, confidence building and respect for others.
