The Knights started well enough against the Titans in their Round 12 clash at Hunter Stadium last year, but that was about as good as it got.

Knights winger Akuila Uate crashed over his Titans opposite, Kevin Gordon, to score a try in the sixth minute, but the Titans then proceeded to score three tries before halftime to lead 16-4 at the break.

The Titans also scored the first try of the second half, through Greg Bird, putting the game out of the opposition's reach.
The Knights came up with the last two tries of the match, but all that did was make the score look a bit less one-sided in a 24-14 loss.

The defeat continued a poor run by the Knights, with their coach, Wayne Bennett, lamenting: "There was no intensity in our defence all night."
