Raiders skipper Terry Campese and team-mate Jarrod Croker will kick-off celebrations for this month’s Harvey Norman Women in League Round at an official NRL dinner for some of Canberra’s most dedicated female Rugby League supporters next week.

Campese’s wife Sarah and Croker’s partner Brittney Wicks will join Rugby League Ambassadors Alan Tongue, Mario Fenech and Nathan Hindmarsh and more than 100 female guests from across the game at the dinner at The Boat House by the Lake in Barton on Tuesday (May 7).

After last night’s dinner in Darwin, the Canberra function is the second of four official NRL events across Australia to celebrate the invaluable contribution women make to the game in the lead-up to the 2013 Harvey Norman Women in League Round (17–20 May). Other functions will be held in Byron Bay (9 May) and Sydney (14 May).

Ahead of the dinner, 10 women from Canberra Rugby League will be selected to take part in the Women in League Leadership Forum aimed at helping women to pursue more senior roles in the game.

The Harvey Norman Women in League Round will see the Telstra Premiership competition turn pink with club activities and game-day celebrations, including the Cowboys, Panthers, Sharks, Dragons, Bulldogs and Warriors wearing pink playing kits.
