Fullback Lachlan Coote kicked a field-goal in extra time to give the Panthers a 13-12 win over the Dragons in Round 10 of last season.

It was the first home win of the season for the Panthers and came after five losses at Centrebet Stadium.

The Panthers scored two tries in quick succession midway through the first half to establish a 12-0 lead, and it wasn’t until the last 20 minutes of normal time that the Dragons, who were without chief playmaker Jamie Soward, began eating into the deficit. Jake Marketo and Mitch Rein scored tries for the visitors and after 80 minutes it was 12-12.

The Dragons missed one field-goal attempt and the Panthers were off target with three before Coote was finally successful, in the 84th minute.
