The Titans showed tremendous spirit to withstand an early barrage from the Cowboys before running away to win 28-12 at Skilled Park in Round 13 of last season.

The game began awfully for the home side when the ball went dead from the kick-off after rookie five-eighth Aidan Sezer let it bounce, and straight away the Cowboys were hammering the opposition line. Early possession was so lop-sided the Titans were constantly forced into goal-line drop-outs – they ended up with seven for the match – and had made 73 tackles at the same time as the Cowboys had made only 10!

But the Cowboys couldn’t turn their dominance into points and when the Titans finally started getting some decent possession they scored two tries, through winger Kevin Gordon and second-rower Greg Bird, and led 12-0 at halftime.

After the break, lock Ashley Harrison and centre Beau Champion scored tries to punch the lead out to 22-0, and the demoralised Cowboys were never going to win from there.
Champion ended up grabbing a second try, and Titans hooker Matt Srama starred in the gutsy win.
