The Broncos were outscored two tries to one but still finished in front overall against the Warriors at Suncorp Stadium in Round 19 of last season.

Goal-kicking let the Warriors down. Five-eighth James Maloney missed with all three of his attempts, compared to Broncos lock Corey Parker’s 100 per cent success rate with his three shots.

The Warriors managed to keep the Broncos tryless for the last 73 minutes, after five-eighth Corey Norman had scored in the seventh, but it still wasn’t enough to get a win.

The Warriors desperately tried to turn the result around using kicks on the last possession of the game, but Broncos fullback Josh Hoffman made a try-saving tackle on winger Manu Vatuvei and soon after Broncos winger Gerard Beale knocked the ball dead as Warriors players were making a run at it.

Parker starred with an all-round, top-class performance for the Broncos.
