Patrician Brothers College Blacktown will look to build on their impressive start to their 2013 GIO Schoolboy Cup campaign when they travel to New Era Stadium, Cabramatta to take on fellow competition heavyweights Westfields Sports High School on Wednesday, 12 June.

The talking point of Round One was Patrician Brothers’ dominant 86-0 victory over Farrer Memorial Agricultural high School, highlighted by hatricks to halfback Sione Tonga and Penrith’s Holden Cup fullback Dallin Watene-Zelezniak.

But coach Peter Ross says that defeating Westfields will require an extra level of intensity from his side.

“This will be a completely different ball game, we are up against a highly professional side with an excellent coach. The key will be overcoming their dominant forward pack,” he said.

Westfields encountered a very different opening fixture to their 2013 campaign, emerging victorious 22-18 over a highly fancied Hills Sports High School outfit.

Coach Wayne Lambkin believes that tough win has provided his side with the ideal preparation for this Round Two clash.

“It will build confidence for us for sure. We don’t have too many rep players compared to previous years, but what sets these kids apart is their willingness to compete. They’re not worries about names.”

Both sides will make minor changes to their sides for Round Two. Westfields welcome back three NSW Under-16 players in Michael Doolan, Simon Fonua and Mark Griffiths to their line-up, while exciting Patrician Brothers centre Ethan Fagaloa-Time means he will be unavailable for selection due to injury.

Kick off at New Era Stadium, Cabramatta will be at 1:00pm.
