Four Australian Rugby League teams are on track for World Cup glory this weekend after winning 10 of their first 11 games at the Festival of the World Cups in the UK.
The Jillaroos, unbeaten after two games, have already qualified for the Women’s World Cup Final this Sunday (14 July) against defending champions New Zealand, regardless of the result of their final pool match against the Kiwis on Friday.
The Australian Police team have won both their pool games, including a win over current champions Fiji, and have qualified for Sunday’s final. They are considered a strong chance to go one better than their second placing in the first Police World Cup in 2008.
Australia’s Student team and current World Champions have been very strong with their two wins and are expected to top their pool and make the final on Sunday.
Australia’s Armed Forces Rugby League team have won all three pool games and are in the World Cup final on Saturday against Great Britain, who are the current World Cup champions.
Australia Wheelchair Rugby League team won their first match and will take on France today in a very tough pool.
