Fullback William Zillman and halfback Albert Kelly each delivered sensational performances for the Titans as they thrashed the Cowboys 31-12 at Skilled Park in Round 12.

Both teams were missing their State of Origin stars, but there were still enough stars left to light the game up – for the Titans, at least. The brilliant Zillman ran for 173 metres and made four line-breaks and two offloads, as well as scoring two tries and having one try assist. Kelly ran for 151 metres and scored two tries and had one try assist.

The Titans had the Cowboys on the back foot from very early on, scoring two tries – through Zillman and Mark Minichiello – in the first 10 minutes to lead 12-0. The Cowboys were forever chasing the game from there.

The Cowboys actually ran for more metres as a team than the Titans –1509 to 1437 – but it was the Titans' ability to cut through the defence that was the difference. They made seven line-breaks to the Titans' two, and had three more offloads (12 to nine) as well, in a dominant attacking performance.
