It was only a Jamie Soward field-goal that came between the Dragons and a fast-finishing Tigers team when they clashed in Round 6 earlier this season.

St George Illawarra went into the break leading 4-0 before skipping to a 12-0 lead in the 57th minute. The Wests Tigers, though, refused to die, launching a stirring comeback in the final 20 minutes through a mountain of metres and tries to Tim Moltzen and Ben Murdoch-Masila.

Soward, though, was the difference – his one-pointer securing a 13-12 win for the Dragons.

The Dragons’ victory came on the back of more metres (1617 to 1468) and line-breaks (six to five), even though they conceded additional penalties (five to four) and conceded more handling errors (13 to 10).
