Sharks captain Paul Gallen is facing a one-match ban after being charged with Grade 1 Dangerous Contact (Unnecessary Head/Neck Pressure) by the NRL Match Review Committee today.

Gallen was charged over his tackle on the Cowboys’ Scott Bolton in the 53rd minute of Sunday’s match and with an early guilty plea would receive one-match ban. If he fights the charge and loses he would also receive a one-match ban.

Gallen was one of five players charged today following Round 25 action with Roosters forward Frank-Paul Nuuausala handed a Grade 1 Dangerous Throw charge for his tackle on Titans forward Ryan James.

Nuuausala will be free to play in Friday night’s clash with the Rabbitohs if he enters an early guilty plea.

Bulldogs forward Josh Jackson and Broncos duo Peter Wallace and Dunamis Lui have each received Grade 1 Careless High tackle charges but all will be free to play in the final round.

All players have until midday tomorrow to enter a plea.
