Parramatta great Nathan Hindmarsh is pleading for patience from fed-up Eels fans as they turn on the club's board over the botched hiring of former coach Ricky Stuart.

The board of the embattled NRL club is believed to be at war with itself as it searches for a permanent CEO and a replacement for Stuart, who exercised a get-out clause in his contract and fled to Canberra after leading the Eels to the wooden spoon in his first and only season.

Hindmarsh, a veteran of 330 games for the Eels, told the Clubhouse on Tuesday night he has heard a protest march is being planned for Saturday calling for the current board to be ousted.
