February 7 – The Australian Crimes Commission (ACC) releases its speculatively damning report on links to crime and performance-enhancing drugs in sport, proclaiming it "the blackest day in Australian sport".
February 10 – 'Sports scientist' Stephen Dank launches defamation action against several media outlets, alleging he was falsely accused of selling illegal substances to sports people.
February 12 – Six NRL clubs – Cronulla, Manly, Newcastle, North Queensland, Penrith and Canberra – reveal they are implicated in the ACC's report.
February 13 – Cronulla maintain that none of their players have returned positive tests to drugs. It's also revealed their 2011 season is under scrutiny.
March
March 8 – Cronulla coach Shane Flanagan is stood down by the club pending a management review. Also, football general manager Darren Mooney and head trainer Mark Noakes are sacked, while club physio Konrad Schultz and club doctor David Givney have their services cut. On the same day Cronulla announce a new interim chief executive – former Brisbane Broncos boss Bruno Cullen.
March 20 – The NRL and Australian Rugby League Commission announce ASADA intends to interview 31 players.
March 22 – Coach Flanagan is reinstated.

April 29 – ASADA halts its series of player interviews after Sharks forward Wade Graham refuses to answer questions.
May
May 14 – News Limited publishes a letter from Cronulla medico David Givney to coach Shane Flanagan expressing concerns about peptide use in 2011.
June
June 14 – Raiders winger Sandor Earl becomes the first NRL player named in the ASADA investigation.
July
July 30 – Cronulla interim CEO Bruno Cullen quits after the club reappoints trainer Mark Noakes.
August
August 30 – Sandor Earl is stood down after admitting to using the banned peptide CJC-1295.
December
December 17 – NRL chief executive Dave Smith announces its preliminary findings, proposing the Sharks are to be fined $1 million, Shane Flanagan suspended for 12 months and then head of strength and conditioning Trent Elkin have his registration cancelled. All parties are given until January 15 to respond to the breach notices.
