Titans CEO Graham Annesley will seek an explanation from Maurice Blair and full details of the charges from police before deciding whether the club needs to take any disciplinary action following an alleged incident in Maryborough on New Year's Eve.

Blair was charged with obstructing police and drinking in a public place in his home town just before midnight on New Year's Eve and is due to face Maryborough Magistrates Court on January 7, the day after the Titans are scheduled to resume pre-season training.

"We have only just been made aware of the incident and have immediately notified the NRL's Integrity Unit," said Annesley in a statement released by the club.

"We are endeavouring to find out all the details and will be speaking to both the player and his manager as soon as possible.

"Until we have a full understanding of the facts, we won’t be prejudging the matter or jumping to any conclusions."

Blair, 29, has spent the past three seasons with the Melbourne Storm having made his NRL debut with the Panthers back in 2007.

He signed with the Titans in July on a two-year deal and has played 84 first grade games to date.
