Game One of this year's Holden State of Origin Series marks the 100th clash between fierce rugby league rivals New South Wales and Queensland. To mark the occasion NRL.com is reliving 100 of the most iconic moments of the past 34 years of this compelling contest. 17. 2003: First game at new Suncorp Stadium

The brand-spanking new Suncorp Stadium was unveiled for the world to see. Yet it was an unhappy welcoming for the Maroons and the adoring home fans. Dubbed 'the Sandpit' Justin Hodges and Paul Bowman succumbed to serious knee injuries later deemed to be due to the faulty surface. Adding to Queensland's worries, NSW halfback Andrew Johns led the Blues to a 25-12 win – scoring 13 points in the process which would kick-start another Blues Series win.
