South Sydney have secured the services of local junior Jason Clark for two more years, with the reserve forward extending his current contract until the end of 2016.
The 24-year-old has played 77 games for the club since debuting in 2009, and his become a regular member of the Rabbitohs' first grade squad after captaining their inaugural Holden Cup Under-20s sides in 2008 and 2009.
The Coogee-Randwick Wombats junior is one of a number of South Sydney products in the cardinal and myrtle ranks, alongside the likes of John Sutton, Adam Reynolds, Dylan Walker, Nathan Merritt and Alex Johnston.
Coach Michael Maguire said he was delighted that Clark had decided to remain at the club for a further two years.
“Clarky is one of the most passionate and professional players we have in our squad and I’m really happy that we have been able to extend his contract with us for another couple of seasons,” said Maguire.
“He works very hard on his game and leads the team both on and off the field.
“He’s a South Sydney junior who always talks about his dream of representing South Sydney and we’re glad that he’s able to fulfil that dream here with us.”
