43. Game One, 2007. Crowd of 52,948 is record for Queensland match
Fresh off the
back of their first series win in four attempts in 2006, the QRL took just
seven minutes to sell 10,000 tickets and four hours to sell out Suncorp Stadium
for Game One in 2007, and the record crowd was treated to a classic Queensland
comeback for their troubles. Trailing 18-6 at halftime, the Maroons piled on 19
unanswered points after Jarryd Hayne had scored a remarkable try on debut,
while Melbourne prop Antonio Kaufusi suffered a season-ending knee injury in
what proved to be his only Origin appearance.
